CONSULTATION
Curriculum Development and Instructional Design Dr. Stephens is available for consultation prior, during, and after an evaluation. Such services include curriculum development and instructional design, and Individualized Educational Program (IEP) development or consultation with parents and educators. This consultation may include both modifications of the curriculum and accommodations which can include assistance with accessing the curriculum. This package includes:

Progress Monitoring
Dr. Stephens provides progress monitoring using curriculum-based measurement to assess the success of intervention on pre-determined goals and objectives. Students are administered a brief evaluation to establish a present level of performance and then are monitored on a regular basis to alter and refine the current instructional plan. This program evaluation reviews changes in test scores over time and provides the means to assess educational benefit or regression.

Academic Record Review
Dr. Stephens frequently reviews prior academic records including standardized testing, prior psycho-educational evaluations, etc. when parents need guidance in making decisions or determining the need for further evaluation.
Classroom Observations
Dr. Stephens is available to observe a student in the classroom setting to help determine the student’s needs and recommend appropriate instruction or intervention.
Parent and Tutor Training
Dr. Stephens meets with parents and tutors to provide specific training in the skills and strategies that have been recommended. Referrals are made to outside individuals and agencies when remediation or tutoring services are needed.
